Fiber laser cutting – cost-efficient and precise
Corelase fiber lasers can be used in several different ways in cutting applications. Laser cutting is cost-efficient for even small-batch production. The localized laser energy input allows small kerf widths, high feed rate and minimal heat affected zone (HAZ). The big benefits of laser cutting with Corelase lasers are excellent cutting quality, ability to cut bright metals due to high back-reflection resistance and application specific beam quality suitable also for precision processing.
Almost all kinds of metals can be laser-cut: mild steel, stainless steel, copper, brass and aluminium are the most common ones. Other laser-cut parts are made from wood, plastics, glass and ceramics.
For complex materials
Laser cutting is applied for materials where complex contours demand precise, fast and force-free processing. Lasers create narrow kerfs and thus achieve high-precision cuts. This method does not show any distortion and in many cases post-processing is not necessary as the component is subject to only little heat input and can mostly be cut dross-free.
